Dr Juliette Lanskey and the teams at the Universities of Cambridge, Oxford and Cardiff have found a new way to monitor how dementia treatments affect the brain—without invasive procedures. Using Magnetoencephalography (MEG) scans and advanced computer modelling, they tracked how common dementia medication interacts with brain receptors in living patients. This offers a safer, quicker way to test if new drugs reach their targets. This technology could speed up dementia research and therapy development.
